Most clients pay a fixed annual fee that covers financial planning services, phone calls, meetings, and account monitoring. The standard fee schedule is applied to a client's investment portfolio, which includes assets held for investment return, including cash. The firm may adjust fees based on the complexity of the relationship, time, effort, skill required, and anticipated future earning capacity. A one-time set-up fee is charged in the initial year, generally equal to 35% of the annual fee, subject to a $2,000 minimum and a $10,000 cap. For limited scope engagements focusing more on investment advice, the fee is 0.7% of the investment portfolio, or 0.5% for family relationships exceeding $5 million. Hourly rates are $500 for a Professional Financial Planner and $350 for Financial Associates.
