KCM does not charge a separate fee for financial planning services; these are included with investment advisory services. Investment advisory fees are based on the market value of the portfolio and are negotiable. The basic annual fee structure is 0.50% for cash management and investment grade fixed income, and 0.90% for equities, ADRs, ETFs, ETNs, open and closed-end mutual funds, preferred stock, and hybrid securities. KCM charges a minimum fee of $5,000 per year. Clients are subject to a 30-day termination fee based upon assets under management at the date of termination, at the Adviser's discretion.
